I’m an award-winning writer whose work has appeared in numerous publications, including American Profile, The Saturday Evening Post, BJ’s Journal, Woman’s World, Writer’s Digest, Boomer, Cooperative Living, numerous trade magazines/custom publications and many more. Sample some of my work on the Articles page of this website.
My writing is a mixed bag of profiles, interviews, music, business, travel, health, consumer service, essays/columns and general interest features. I’ve interviewed neurologists about the brain’s complexities, discussed the impact of Lyme disease with Lyme sufferers and chatted with Vince Gill & Amy Grant in their Nashville home. I’ve been dazzled by pinball wizards at Las Vegas’ Pinball Hall of Fame, enjoyed a private tour of California’s Mt. Whitney portal with Loren Janes (Steve McQueen’s stunt double) and toured Historic Jamestowne with archaeologist/author Dr. Bill Kelso, who first unearthed fragments of the 1607 James Fort at Historic Jamestowne, the original site where America’s first colonists settled.
I love taking offbeat approaches to familiar topics and looking for fresh angles. I love reading and research, and you’ll seldom find me without a Bible, book or magazine in hand.
I’m married and live with my husband and “dog daughter” in Virginia. I love the beach, dogs, reading, travel, music, film noir/classic films and classic television. My work has earned over 2 dozen awards via VPC (Virginia Professional Communicators) and NFPW (National Federation of Press Women).
